We love sharing simple sensory bins that you can make at home within minutes! Using things you already have is a great way to get sensory play into your love bugs schedule. Today we used rice and paper to make a tracing sensory bin. Practicing number recognition while developing pre writing skills.
What you’ll need
A bin
Rice
A marker
Paper
Start by filling your bin with rice. On small pieces of paper or index cards write the numbers 1-10 with one number on each card.
Learning activities
Ask your child to draw each number into the rice using their fingers.
Ask your child to state what number they’re drawing.
Allow your child to have free time to draw whatever they’d like in the rice.
