Alphabet Soup 2.0 Sensory Bin

We canโ€™t get enough of the ๐š๐ฅ๐ฉ๐ก๐š๐›๐ž๐ญ ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฉ ๐ฌ๐ž๐ง๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐›๐ข๐ง! Itโ€™s a great way to build letter recognition while playing! This time instead of adding water as our base, weโ€™ve added foam sticker letters! A great spin on our original post of the alphabet soup!

What youโ€™ll need:

  • A bin

  • Foam sticker letters

  • Toy pots and pans

  • Toy cooking utensils

Start by spreading the foam letters on the bottom of your bin. Place the toy pots, pans, and cooking utensils on top of the foam letters. Allow your child to play in the bin while learning their alphabets.

Learning activities:

  • Introduce the letters to your child by teaching them each letter.

  • Sound out each letter with your child

  • For children that already know their letters and letter sounds, begin teaching them sight words by pulling out letters and laying them on the counter to make words.

  • Sort the letters into different piles and count how many you have โ€œCan you tell me how many Lโ€™s there are?โ€

  • Sort the letters into colors.

This sensory bin will give your child hours of letter fun! They will become familiar with their letters while using their imagination to cook their favorite dishes. Come back next Tuesday for our next Touch It Tuesday!
