Alphabet Soup 2.0 Sensory Bin
We can’t get enough of the 𝐚𝐥𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐢𝐧! It’s a great way to build letter recognition while playing! This time instead of adding water as our base, we’ve added foam sticker letters! A great spin on our original post of the alphabet soup!
What you’ll need:
Foam sticker letters
Toy pots and pans
Toy cooking utensils
Start by spreading the foam letters on the bottom of your bin. Place the toy pots, pans, and cooking utensils on top of the foam letters. Allow your child to play in the bin while learning their alphabets.
Introduce the letters to your child by teaching them each letter.
Sound out each letter with your child
For children that already know their letters and letter sounds, begin teaching them sight words by pulling out letters and laying them on the counter to make words.
Sort the letters into different piles and count how many you have “Can you tell me how many L’s there are?”
Sort the letters into colors.
This sensory bin will give your child hours of letter fun! They will become familiar with their letters while using their imagination to cook their favorite dishes. Come back next Tuesday for our next Touch It Tuesday!
